Toni Bugle is winning the Social Media Campaign in Bedfordshire, whilst Liberal Democrats & Labour fight it out for 2nd Place.

2016 Bedfordshire Social Media Campaign

With the Bedfordshire Police Commissioner Elections kicked off in Bedfordshire, English Passport thought it would take a look into the 5 Social Media Campaigns for the 5 Candidates, with no free leaflet drop, then a solid Social Media and Internet Campaign is essential for the candidates to get their various messages across to the voting public.

So in alphabetically order

Toni Bugle of the English Democrats, has a twitter accounts badged up for the Bedfordshire PCC election, with a quite incredible 6,394 followers, double that of any other Candidate, she then tops this with a Facebook Page, which is again, double that of any other candidate, putting her in first place with 7,063 votes.

Linda Jack of the Liberal Democrats, has a Twitter account with a credible 2,546 followers, which would be credible but for the huge number of followers that Toni Bugle has. Linda tops up her Twitter with a Facebook Page with 224 Likes, giving her a grand total of 2,770, which puts her just ahead of gay rights campaigner Olly Martin, in second place.

Olly Martin the gay rights campaigner and Labour party member –  the incumbent Police Commissioner seeking re-election, has a Twitter account of 2,421, which is modest considering he has held a major executive role for 3.5 years, he also has a Facebook Page with just 225 Likes, indicating that Olly Martin is not very well “Liked” – It seems that it is time for Olly to pack his backs and get back to his Gay Rights campaigning, as with only 2, 640 votes in 3rd place he is not going to stay for a second term !

Kathryn Holloway of the Conservatives, seems to already appreciate that she has no hope of winning this election and has given up on any Social Media Campaigning, as her Twitter followers total just 136, and her Facebook page totals just 61.  An embarrassing performance for the candidate of the Governing party, only held from last place by the UKIP candidate.

Duncan Strachan of UKIP, not only appears to have given up on the Bedfordshire PCC campaign, but he has not actually started. English Passport can’t find a Twitter Account, Facebook Page or Web site, he does publish an e-mail address on the Bedfordshire ChoosemyPCC Goverment WebSite – he really is not a serious candidate with ZERO votes !

So there you have it based on Social Media the English Democrats candidate will win this election iin the first round.
